Next week is National Small Business Week, and there's no better way to celebrate than with a little video marketing. The US Small Business Association has been observing the week for over 60 years, and your small business deserves to get in on the action. Keep reading for our top tips on how to use video to showcase your company for National Small Business Week.

1) Create an About Video
No small business story is too small to celebrate! This National Small Business Week, take the opportunity to showcase your company's growth, values, and personality. In your About video, make sure you not only cover the basics, like the services and products you provide, but also additional details that explain what makes your company unique. The best small business About videos also tell an engaging rendition of how and why the company began. They highlight the company's values and show consumers what they are ultimately supporting. This is a great way for viewers to connect to the individuals behind your small business and maintain loyalty to the brand. We recommend About videos be featured on your website's homepage and stick to 2-3 minutes. Check out the AWV About Video for an example of how a simple video can be tell the story of your brand.
2) Showcase Your Accomplishments
We know firsthand that running your own small business is no small task! Take this week to create social media videos that showcase and celebrate all that your business has accomplished. Be sure to include the ways your company has grown in the past year, including any new team members and services/products that you've added. In your National Small Business Week video, also share your favorite customer reviews from the past year. Above all else, thank all of your customers, clients, and supporters who have made your accomplishments possible. When editing these videos, we recommend you stick to the formatting that is specifically required for the site you're posting on. Instagram should be vertical videos with a maximum time of 90 seconds. Facebook and LinkedIn videos should be horizontal and should be between 1-2 minutes long.
3) Advertise NSBW Sales
National Small Business Week is a time for consumers to support local shops. What better way to showcase your business than with a sale. Marketing videos can be highly effective when done right. First, make sure to show your product and the sale within the first three seconds of the video. This helps grab the audience's attention and tells them why they should keep watching. Make sure any text you use is LARGE. Remember, most people watch videos on their phones, so a wall of small text will be very hard to read. Video quality is also important. Low light will make your products hard to see. Bad audio quality is not only distracting, but can make many audiences scroll past your video entirely. Lastly, always use a Call to Action at the end. Let audiences know what to do next. Should they call you? Should they go to your website? Should they visit your store? Don't make them guess how to spend money with you - just tell them.
