With pre-scheduled video content, small business owners don't have to sacrifice time with family just to keep their brand active. Keep reading for our top tips on how to use video for holiday marketing automation.

How to Use Video for Holiday Marketing Automation

1) Create Batch Content

There's no better video marketing bang-for-your-buck than creating batch content. In fact, it's our number one recommendation to clients when it comes to making branded videos. Carve out a piece of your day to create enough videos to fill your posting schedule for the rest of the year. Naturally, this requires a bit of prep. Start by checking the calendar and determining what kinds of posts you plan on making. We recommend making more than you need to give yourself some wiggle room. If you plan to start making videos again on January 1, make sure you have enough content to post through January 15. This prevents against any gaps in your marketing presence. Once you have all of your content mapped out, be sure to create your videos in batches--it's most efficient (and cheapest!) to film everything in one session.

2) Schedule Your Social Media Posts

Even with the perfect video content, if you miss the ideal posting window, you'll also miss out on views and engagement. Social media schedulers are an absolute game changer when it comes to timing your posts. Be sure to schedule your posts as soon as they're completed, so none is forgotten or left undone. This is perfect for establishing consistency with your brand's presence and content, keeping you top-of-mind on a regular basis. Scheduling also allows you to time your posts to go live at the ideal times for your target audience to see them. Some popular social schedulers include HootSuite, Buffer, and Later. 3) Schedule Your Email Blasts

This may come as a shock, but our Thursday morning emails aren't written on Thursday morning (or even Wednesday night!). We plan out each week's content over a month in advance, create the videos and blogs, then schedule our emails to be sent right as the blogs go live. If you spend the time and money on creating videos, don't be shy about sharing them! Use an email marketing platform to schedule email blasts that contain the videos you want to share--we recommend Mailchimp, ConstantContact, or MailerLite. This way, whether you're away on vacation or just don't want to have to think about sending emails each week, you'll never miss a chance to share your branded video content.
